Amisha Parekh, MD, MPH, FACEP
Dr. Parekh is the Medical Director at the Pearl Health Center. She graduated from medical school in 2007 and completed residency training at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Parekh is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and has been Board Certified since 2013. She has completed training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Parekh has also completed a Masters of Public Health at the Medical College of Ohio. She is an Assistant Professor at the Weill Cornell Medical Center and is available for consultation at the clinic for both urgent and primary care matters. She is licensed to practice medicine in Oregon, Washington, and New York. Dr. Parekh continues to practice full time in an Emergency Department setting.
Robert Birkhahn, MD, FACEP, AAFP
Dr. Birkhahn is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Birkhahn graduated from the University of Cincinnati, completed residency training at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and received his Masters from Cornell University in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research. He is Board Certified by ABEM and has been trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr. Birkhahn is a Professor at the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York and has produced more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, conducted more than 50 clinical research trials, and still actively teaches medical students, paramedics, residency candidates and clinical fellows. In his spare time Dr. Birkhahn volunteers as a Primary Care Physician providing free medical care at the Southwest Community Health Center in Hillsboro.
Aarin Meager-Benson, ND
Dr. Benson is a naturopathic physician specializing in primary care medicine. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in women's health and received her ND at Bastyr University in 2003. She has practiced craniosacral therapy since 2001, completed NAET allergy training in 2009, and also utilizes EFT acupressure in her practice. Dr. Benson enjoys working with patients who are motivated to explore natural treatment options as well as optimize their diet and lifestyle choices in order to improve overall vitality and quality of life. She grew up in the Midwest, is a mother of two young boys and loves all the culture and community of Portland.
Kelly Witbeck, MSN, BSN, RN, FNP-C
Kelly Witbeck is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated from Jacksonville University with a BS in Nursing and holds both a Masters of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner license from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Kelly began her nursing career working with cardiac and heart transplant patients at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She then worked with the St. Johns County School District as a school nurse. She believes in a holistic approach to health concerns.
Zubaida Abdulai, FNP-C
Zubaida is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she received her Family Nurse Practitioner Degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and her Bachelor in Science Degree from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY. She started her nursing career as a Pediatric Emergency room Nurse in Philadelphia, PA and has since branched into adult areas of Nursing as well. She is devoted to serving underserved populations. In her free time, Zubaida enjoys exploring Portland restaurants, reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Whitney Ault, MSN, BSN, RN, FNP-C
Whitney Ault is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She graduated from the University of Portland with her Bachelors in Science of Nursing in 2007. In her early career, she worked with patients on a medical surgical unit focused on urology and then transitioned to a specialty in OBGYN. She went back to school in 2014 and graduated from Frontier Nursing University with her Masters of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner license. She enjoys working with patients across the lifespan and empowers her patients to prevent and improve their health using a holistic approach. In her free time she enjoyes spending time with her husband, son, and furry pets.
Jeremy Adversalo, LPC
Jeremy is a licensed professional counseling (LPC), and received his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University. Jeremy has provided mental health services for a wide range of individuals, including those impacted by depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, substance use, and challenging life transitions. Jeremy believes it is important for mental health treatment to be tailored to our clients' wants and needs. Through this collaborative process, clients are able to identify their own personal goals, and begin to develop a meaningful and fulfilling life. When Jeremy is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing fetch with his dog, riding his bike, and going to music concerts.
McKenzie Gaby, LAc
McKenzie R. Gaby is a board certified, licensed acupuncturist in both Oregon and Colorado. She obtained her Master’s of Science in Acupuncture from The Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2013. She specializes in treating digestive, hormonal, and emotional issues, headaches, neck and back pain, insomnia, anxiety, eating disorders, and addiction. Other modalities she offers include cupping, gua sha, heat therapy, and electric stimulation. Additionally, she holds a certificate in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through Cornell University, and has just begun pre-course work for her dual Ph.D in holistic nutrition and sports nutrition through the University of Natural Health. She is fascinated by natural medicines, mycology, animals, and the human psyche, and is passionate about art, writing, and cooking. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through The People’s Yoga, and is studying Western herbalism through Heart of Herbs. Acupuncture is safe, relaxing, thoroughly transitive, and has no negative side effects! McKenzie enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and educating them about the many wonderful benefits of this 2,500-year-old alternative medicine.
Evan Halbert, DC
Dr. Halbert graduated from the University of Oregon's Robert D. Clark Honors College and the University of Western States. He practices and is certified in Cox Technic flexion/distraction, one of the best non-surgical options for serious spinal conditions like disc herniation with radiculopathy or sciatica and stenosis. Dr. Halbert also enjoys treating every day aches, pains, headaches, and bad posture in addition to extremity conditions like ankle sprains, tennis elbow, and numb or tingling fingers and toes. When able, he incorporates gua sha and other manual therapies, therapeutic exercises and stretches, massage, activity modifications, and nutrition. In his spare time, Dr. Halbert enjoys playing music, dancing Argentine tango, designing board games, and spending time with his family.
Heather Nordeen, LPC, CADCI
Heather grew up in the Pacific Northwest and considers herself an almost Portland native. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and certified drug and alcohol counselor (CADCI) who has been working in the mental health field since 2009. Her clinical skills span working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, addiction, relational issues, life transitions, grief and loss, and recovery from trauma. Outside her passion for therapy, she likes to hike, kayak, listen to music, and look for thrift store finds from the 50's and 60's.
